The Ultimate Movable Feast

Far and Away Adventures has specialized in luxury camping and river experiences since 1980, when owner and guide Steve Lentz sought to create a Safari-style, high-touch camping and dining experience that rivaled the day’s unforgettable river adventure. Camping amenities include a riverside walk-in chalet with carpet underfoot, elevated beds with flannel bedding, night stands with a glowing lantern, and an entry rug to capture sand from your happy, bare feet.

You won’t find a more comfortable camping experience on a wilderness river! Seriously, you will feel like royalty. The camping experience is further enhanced by hot showers, gourmet meals, a table set with French country cloth and fine stemware, comfy chairs, specially chosen wines and organic, locally grown cuisine prepared by a trained and talented chef.

We shape an innovative menu that, once consumed, will cap off the day in an extra special way.  We can easily cater to special dietary needs. We also provide a custom children’s menu, so that everyone is happy at the dining table. Kobe Wagyu Beef and Kurobuta Pork from Snake River Farms are a few of the treats you’ll enjoy on our path to supporting local farmers and sustainable agriculture. Seafood is chosen and aligned with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Program.

Based in Sun Valley, we have access to fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a wonderful selection of wine that’s paired to each meal. A keg on tap offers microbrew from across the West. Dinners are served to our guests while seated at the table in 3-4 courses. Heated stoneware ensures your main course stays warm in the outdoors, while you enjoy a fabulous meal under the glow of candlelight and, of course, under more stars than you have seen in a lifetime.

Just add the natural, multi-layered song of the river as your backdrop for the ultimate in culinary adventure.
